Human trafficking has two major categories, sex trafficking and labor trafficking. Sex trafficking can be defined as being sold into prostitution unwillingly, while labor trafficking is manipulating workers by selling them into other kinds of work unwillingly. Human trafficking can occur anywhere in the world. In child prostitution there is a myth that if a man sleeps with a "clean one" (virgin), then if they have an STD it will be cured. This is not true, but many believe it.

Human trafficking in the United States: (Pam)
It is estimated that 14,500 to 17,500 people, primarily women and children, are trafficked to the U.S. annually. On average children enter into prostitution at the ages 11-13 for boys and 11-14 for girls. This is because it is statistically proven that they are more susceptible to pimp flattery and will get trapped into this business.

Human Trafficking in India: (Amber)
In India, child trafficking is something that is very common. Women, girls, and even sometimes men and boys are sold into the sex trade every day. People from places such as Bangladesh, Nepal, and many other countries are sold into a country where human trafficking is most popular. In Bombay children that are as young as 9 can be sold for around 60,000 rupees which is $ 2,000 in American money. In the brothels of India, there are around 160,000 Nepalese women held. Every day, there are around 5,000-7,000 girls sold into the business. In India, there are beliefs that a man’s sickness can be healed by a virgin. So sicknesses are passed throughout brothels like rapid fire. When women and young girls are infected, the children they have can also become infected. It is not easy for women and girls to escape brothels due to corrupt police and due to the fact that they will have nowhere to go after they leave. If they try to go back to their family, they might be disgraced. Their family would think that they went to the brothels on their own not by force. Not many women and girls escape this business, but there are many more still waiting for their chance to escape or be rescued. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr72hbr4J4U
